Member in the News: Keith Lavery
May I
suggest - way in advance - that you look for the March - April
ASIS Dynamics that comes to you in the mail, and see the article
on our own Keith Lavery of Polaris Career Center (page 18, I
believe, but it's not out yet. March - April, and I was privy to an
advance copy). Excellent write-up, in my opinion, and some very good
perspectives and ideas. Solid. But, after all, it's Keith, and
knowing him I wouldn't expect less. Keith is not only our (ASIS
Cleveland) Law Enforcement Liaison Chair and serves on the ASIS
Cleveland Executive Committee, he also serves as a member of the
ASIS International Law Enforcement Liaison Council. In most things
that he becomes involved with, whether it is the Law Enforcement
Expo or a myriad of other involvements, Keith always finds a way to
make sure that ASIS Cleveland gets mentioned and becomes part of the
conversation, so to speak. And when he does so, he helps all of us,
the security profession, the chapter, and he does this without
thinking twice, often talking about the importance of communication,
understanding, and cooperation between private security and the law
enforcement community. In my opinion that is leadership, and he is
one motivated member with his eye on the ball. As an ASIS Cleveland
member, he is worth emulating. So, "Hats Off" to Keith Lavery.
Congratulations on this article and coverage. See more on Keith at
the law enforcement liaison page.
Contact Keith from there if you wish to congratulate him on this and
the item below.

Distinctions: The Anti Terrorism Accreditation Board (ATAB)
announced on Tuesday that Mr. Keith R. Lavery of the
Polaris Career Center has been
awarded the coveted Certified Master Anti-terrorism Specialist
designation. See more about this in the upcoming ASIS Cleveland
North Coast Network newsletter.

ASIS Akron-Canton Leader Shines: Tim Dimoff
In
our sister chapter to the near south, the Chair of ASIS Akron-Canton
leads in more ways than one. Tim was recognized at the meeting today
for the distinction of receiving an award as "Speaker of the
Year." What I don't know at this moment is exactly what organization
chose him for this distinction, but I'm sure that I'll hear and will
pass that along. But if you've heard Tim speak, this award should
come as no surprise. Dynamic, personable, engaging, knowledgeable.
And Tim gave an open invitation to any Cleveland member to attend
the ASIS Akron-Canton meetings, which I understand are well attended
and having good presentations and topics. Without doubt, we'd extend
that same invitation to Akron-Canton members, and a joint meeting at
Lubrizol in Brecksville in May is in the planning stages.
Regardless, "Hats Off" to Tim for leadership on several fronts.
